Project Pink: History
In 2007, SNMH Foundation rallied teams of women in the community who helped us raise more than $132,000 in six month for a specialized peice of surgical equipment, the Faxitron, used during lumpectomies. The Faxitron has greatly improved the care that our breast cancer patients receive by reducing surgery time and providing a more advanced digital image of the "lump" for the surgeon and radiologist. We are excited to once again launch Project Pink to advance the care that our breast cancer patients receive at SNMH!
Project Pink 2009
Project Pink has reached its goal of raising $150,000!
Many thanks to our Project Pink Teams who have provided invaluable volunteer support for this campaign and have put together some AMAZING events! Click here for pictures from the Project Pink campaign.
Funds raised through Project Pink purchased a new ultrasound machine dedicated for use in the Breast Imaging Center. Before, the Breast Imaging Center only had access to an ultrasound machine for a short period of time each day making scheduling follow-up exams difficult and often times breast care patients had to wait several days to get an appointment and find out the results. The benefits of having this new ultrasound machine in the Breast Imaging Center are many and the goal is to improve patient care:
- Improve wait times for scheduling appointments
- Patients receive exam results sooner
- Advances in technology allow for greater detection of breast cancer at an early stage
Early Detection is the BEST Protection!
Ways to Give to Project Pink
While the Project Pink campaign is now complete, we are always looking for ways to improve breast care in our community. SNMH Foundation has a breast care fund and raises money for the Breast Imaging Center and Cancer Center year round.
Checks can be made payable to SNMH Foundation, with Breast Care in the memo line, to P.O. Box 1810, Grass Valley, CA
